NMMS Scholarship Exam

It is organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development of the Government of India. It is a centrally sponsored scheme. Under this scheme, the scholarship is awarded to 1,00,000 students (nationwide) selected at the end of class VIII. The aim of the NMMS scheme is to award scholarships to deserving students belonging to economically weaker sections to encourage them to continue their studies until Class XII.


NMMS Eligibility criteria

  • Must have scored 55% or better on Class VII exam (in academic session) and have been promoted to class VIII (in academic session). There is a 5% relaxation in the notes for the reserved category.
  • You must be studying only in public, local and private schools.
  • The income of parents from all sources should not exceed Rs. 1,500,000 / - per year
  • Government-issued parental income certificate. An employer in case the parents are Govt. Employees and affidavit witnessed by Magistrate / Notary in case the parents are in some private service/job must be attached with the form.

To join Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) 2026, you must register through the official MyGov portal. Registration for the 9th edition is currently open and follows a simple online process for students, teachers, and parents.

  1. Student (Self Participation): For students with their own mobile/email.
  2. Student (Through Teacher): For students who do not have internet access or a personal device.
  3. Teacher/Parent: Specific modules are available for adults to share their perspectives.
